The “99.9 Criminal Lawyer” returns for a second season after taking the television world by storm starting April 2016. Providing more of the high courtroom drama unique to the series, this second season delves into Miyama’s battle with a judge as he seeks to uncover that 0.1% shred of evidence that can win a case. A young woman visits his law office claiming her father has been wrongly accused of murder. She is accompanied by a friend and former judge who insists Miyama litigate for a reduced sentence since a guilty conviction seems a foregone conclusion. But a surprised Miyama and partner, Sada, take on the case instead to pursue the whole truth against the wishes of their client.

New York. Ataru belongs to the Savant Program Branch of the FBI, which has just been hit by an explosive. Meanwhile, similar tactics have been used to blow up electric rail lines in Tokyo. Wheelchair-confined chief of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police, Akiho Hoshi, has just put agent Sawa and his team at the First Investigative Division on the case when Larry and Ataru appear on the investigation headquarters. According to Larry, the two bombing plots originated from a financial business zone in London, orchestrated via server by a computer virus dubbed "Wizard". The virus was developed by a Brazilian-Japanese named Madoka with whom Sawa and his force had previously crossed paths as a suspect in a serial murder case. Like Ataru, Madoka bears traits similar to those of a savant and was also formerly an SPB candidate who had received training. The two remotely perpetrated bombings put the FBI and Tokyo Metropolitan Police Agency in hot pursuit of Madoka.

She finds herself “enamored” with them. But the appearance of a young man named Katsuya Okubo leads to the destruction of those feelings. His wife had witnessed the scene, but never speaks of it, allowing Fumiko to shoulder the blame. Fumiko does so willingly to keep a certain secret. 40 years later, in 2013, a reporter named Mit-suhiko Torikai is reexamining the case, trying to find out what really happened. Finishing a long sentence, Fumiko, who now suffers from terminal cancer, decides to bare her soul at last and reveal the secrets she’s kept locked away for so long.
