Two young women from Japan are living there.
One is Fujiko, who is expected to become a devoted wife supporting her husband, yet secretly dreams of becoming a painter.
The other is Chizuru, born into a samurai family line. A master of the naginata, she nevertheless finds her heart drawn to ballet.
One day, Chizuru happens to come to Fujiko’s aid when she is caught up in trouble—an encounter that turns out to be a fateful reunion between the two, who had once met as children in Yokohama.
Upon learning of Chizuru’s dream, Fujiko discovers that Olga, the mother of a young man named Ruslan who lives in the same apartment building, is a former ballerina from Russia. She asks Olga to give Chizuru ballet lessons.
Though they face many barriers as foreigners from the East, the two young women move forward toward their dreams—until one day, Fujiko’s uncle, her guardian, suddenly disappears.
Will Fujiko and Chizuru be able to grasp their respective dreams?
Journey with these two dream-filled girls to the dazzling city of Paris, a hundred years ago.
